YOUR PHYSICIAN

Meet Dr. Lillian Whalen

“‘Your labs are normal’ is where a lot of visits end. I'd rather it be where we start looking.”

Dr. Lillian Whalen, MD

Dr. Whalen came to medicine the long way around. She started out studying liberal arts and journalism at Hillsdale College, until an organic chemistry class and her own family doctor changed her direction entirely.

That’s shaped how she practices. She brings a researcher’s instinct to her patients, digging for the root cause of why you feel the way you do rather than stopping at a normal-looking lab result.

Originally from Wisconsin, she completed medical school and residency in Green Bay before moving to St. Louis, where she lives with her husband and their two young children.

Dr. Whalen is accepting new patients now.

Dr. David Bereda

You’ll also have access to Dr. Jeffrey Davis, board-certified emergency medicine physician and our founder (Vanderbilt MD, Washington University MBA), and Dr. David Bereda, family medicine physician and osteopathic doctor who trained at Saint Louis University.

How this works with your insurance

Link Primary Care doesn’t bill insurance. That’s what lets us keep visits long, appointments open, and prices posted publicly. Most members keep their coverage and use it the way it works best: for hospital stays, specialists, surgery, and emergencies.

If you have a high-deductible plan or an HSA, this pairs especially well. You’re likely already paying full price for primary care until your deductible resets. At $109/month, most members come out ahead.

“They listen to your concerns and talk through them with you, not at you. Your blood labs are included and are explained in detail. When was the last time your doctor personally called just to ask how you are? Mine does regularly.”

FAQ

Questions people ask us

Do you take my insurance?

We don't bill insurance, and that's deliberate. It's what lets us offer long appointments, same-day availability, and prices you can see up front. Most members keep their insurance for hospital care, specialists, and emergencies, and use Link for everything primary care.

What does the $109 actually cover?

Unlimited office and virtual visits, direct text/call/email access to your doctor, same-day and next-day appointments, annual physicals, well-woman exams, urgent and acute care, chronic condition management, and mental health care. Plus roughly 90% off labs and 80% off medications through our on-site pharmacy. No copays and no per-visit fees.

Do you do Pap smears and well-woman exams?

Yes. Well-woman visits, pelvic and clinical breast exams, Pap smears, cervical cancer screening, and HPV testing are all part of your membership.

Are you an OB/GYN?

No. We're a family medicine practice, which covers most of the women's health care you need year to year: well-woman exams, Pap smears, contraception, hormone and menopause care, and same-day treatment for things like UTIs and BV. We don't provide prenatal care, obstetrics, fertility treatment, or gynecologic surgery, but we're glad to connect you with a specialist we trust.

Can you help with menopause and perimenopause?

Yes. It's one of the most common reasons women come to us. We do comprehensive hormone and thyroid testing, talk through your symptoms without rushing, and prescribe and manage hormone therapy when it's the right fit. Because visits are unlimited, we can adjust and follow up as many times as it takes without extra cost.

Can I get birth control here?

Yes. We provide contraception counseling and prescriptions as part of your regular primary care.

How much are labs and prescriptions?

Members get about 90% off lab work and about 80% off medications, which we buy at wholesale and dispense on site. Panels that cost hundreds out of pocket elsewhere are often a small fraction of that here.

How fast can I be seen?

Same day or next day for most concerns, and often within days for your first appointment as a new member. Our clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4:30, and you can text or call your doctor any time.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Membership is month to month and you can cancel anytime. Annual members get one month free.

Can my family join too?

Yes. Adults are $109/month and children under 18 are $59/month with an adult membership, including sports and school physicals.

Have a question? Ask us directly.

Tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll get back to you, usually the same day.

We’ll never share your information. No obligation.
